Recipe for Success

We all know the days when we hit the ground running—emails, tasks, responsibilities piling up before we even finish our first cup of coffee. But over time, I’ve found that the way I start my day sets the tone for everything that follows. My morning rhythm isn’t complicated, but it’s powerful. I call it my recipe for success, and it’s made up of three intentional ingredients:

Quiet Time
Before the noise of the world begins, I carve out space for stillness. This quiet time is less about productivity and more about presence—an anchoring before I step into the demands of the day. I am disciplined in accessing the Pray as You Go app. Rather it’s prayer, journaling, simply breathing deeply and noticing the gift of a new day, intention is key.
A Protein-Packed Breakfast
Fuel matters. I’ve learned that starting with protein instead of sugar or caffeine stabilizes my energy, sharpens my focus, and helps me stay present throughout the morning. Whether it’s eggs, Greek yogurt, or a smoothie with protein powder, nourishing my body helps me honor it as the vessel that carries me through my work and relationships.
Movement
It doesn’t have to be a long workout. Sometimes it’s stretching, a brisk walk, or strength exercises. The point is to wake up my body, remind myself of its strength, and spark the natural energy that movement brings.
When I combine these three—quiet time, protein, and movement—I’m not just preparing for a busy day. I’m choosing wholeness. I’m reminding myself that success isn’t only measured in output, but in how grounded, nourished, and alive I feel as I move through the hours ahead.
This recipe may be simple, but it’s one I return to again and again because it works. What’s in your recipe for a successful morning?
